Not Quite

This week I'm on spring break from college.  I was looking forward to a week of rest, relaxation, and reading!  Sigh...it was not meant to be.

What I didn't realize is that the online classes at my school do not observe spring break.  AT ALL!!  Which meant I still had tests to take and a paper to write.  This is definitely not what I had in mind!

My tests are done, my paper is almost finished.  Hopefully, I'll get in a couple hours of losing myself in a book before I have to be back in class on Monday morning.

I desperately need time management tips!  What are your tricks and tips?

Love,
Jerri

Things I've Learned

Going through my divorce and standing by friends going through their divorces...there are a few things I've learned (the hard way!).

  1. A woman should be told she's beautiful on a regular basis.  Never let anyone treat you as less than what you are.
  2. If he isn't proud to have you on his arm and to publicly acknowledge that you are his, leave.
  3. If you are not his priority, if other things come before you, if it's all about him, leave.
  4. If your feelings are dismissed and treated as invalid, leave.
  5. Be appreciative for what you have.  If you are not appreciated in return, leave.

Remember...

  1. You ARE beautiful.  Regardless of society's standards of beauty, your soul and heart shine through.  That is what is truly beautiful.
  2. Every woman is worthy of being that trophy wife.  You are a precious gift.
  3. A man who loves you will make you and your happiness his priority.  You deserve nothing less.
  4. What you feel is true and real.  A woman's intuition should be listened to and followed.
  5. Women are natural caretakers.  This is a one of a kind gift that you bestow on someone.  Be proud.
Just a few thoughts...do you have any to add?

Time Away

I've taken a little time off this past week and will do so again this week.  Being in school, my plate is pretty full at the moment!  Coming up this week, I have five tests and a paper due.

So I'll be back starting the 17th...yay for spring break!!

Jerri

My Favorite Flavor

I think one of my most favorite flavors in the world is lemon.  I love lemon cake, lemonade, lemon candy, lemon everything!  Here's one of my easiest lemon fixes!

Lemon Bites

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 full stick) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 cups flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream together butter, sugar, and lemon juice.  Slowly stir in flour until completely mixed.  Drop on to an ungreased cookie sheet by the teaspoonful.  Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.

Enjoy!!!

A Bit of Business Part Five

It's been a business week here without a doubt.  It's not my favorite type of posts to write.  Self-promotion is not my strong suit.  It makes me more than a tad uncomfortable because I was brought up that "bragging" about yourself is unseemly and not appropriate behavior.  Like most women my age, we were raised to be self-deprecating and humble.  Well, I've pretty much spent this week yelling "Hey!  Look at me!".

The truth is that being a writer is a solitary occupation.  If I don't self-promote, no one will know I exist.  Whether it's for my book, my fan page, or the main site for the blog itself, if I don't put it out there, no one else will.

I believe in being upfront about what's involved on each forum and how those results are achieved. I can't do it without the help of my readers but you can't help if I haven't made it clear how you can.

And you, my most treasured readers, are why I do what I do.  I won't get rich doing this.  But I enjoy sharing my journey with you and I've learned so much from you in return.  Thank you so much for joining me!

Love,
Jerri
