MLK

Today is the official holiday to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  It is intended as a national day of service in his honor.  It is based on his quote:

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"

To serve, you don't need a grand plan or a huge organization.  Walk out your front door.  There is a need in your own neighborhood.

Is there a park that could use some trash pick-up?  Is there a food bank that could use a volunteer?  Is there a school that needs volunteers?  With just those questions, you've probably thought of an opportunity and probably haven't even made it a mile from your front door.

With today's economy, need is everywhere.  In honor of the holiday, reach out and help someone.

Love,
Jerri
