Bake or Freeze

A quick sandwich recipe that can be baked immediately or stored in the freezer for emergency dinners!


1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
15 oz can chili (no beans)
8 hamburger buns
8 slices American cheese


Brown the ground beef, adding the onion, salt, and pepper.  Drain well.  Add chili, mix well, and remove from heat.  Divide the beef mixture between the eight buns and top with a slice of cheese.  Replace the bun tops and wrap each completed bun in aluminum foil.  Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.  If saving for later, freeze unbaked.  Frozen sandwiches can go straight to the oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
