A Dessert Staple

Pound cake is a staple at my house...I use it alone, with fruit topping, with ice cream, you name it. Here is an easy recipe for this delicious, versatile dessert.

Ingredients:

1 cup softened butter
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp almond flavoring

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Combine all ingredients and beat at medium speed for 10 minutes. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.  Warning...the batter will be very thick!  Bake for one hour, using the toothpick test for doneness.

Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
